1989 Lipizzan Stallion owned by Thomas Ritter
Approved for Breeding
Sire: Maestoso II Primavera   Dam: Catrina
Maestoso II Catrina ("Tony") is a Haute-Ecole Dressage-trained stallion owned by Thomas and Shana Ritter. He has performed in many exhibitions in-hand, at the longrein, and under saddle. His specialties are the piaffe, levade, and courbette, as well as work at the longrein.
Available for Sale. Perfect for a start-up or small Lipizzan breeder who wishes to preserve the traditional, classical Baroque-type of Lipizzan. "Tony" is an excellent sire. He consistently produces classical, baroque-type foals with outstanding movement and temperaments - and excellent evaluation scores, as well! Our highest scoring foal ever (88.9%) was a 2008 colt by "Tony". "Tony" has extensive exhibition experience in-hand (Levade is his specialty), at the long-rein, as well as under saddle. He was on the cover of the February 2009 issue of Dressage Today magazine performing a Levade in Hand. He has a kind, noble, and aristocratic personality. He is quite affectionate and fond of people, and he especially enjoys spending time with his people - especially those who dote after him and tell him how wonderful he is (he LOVES to hear that!). He especially loves a scratch above his tail and will hunt you down to get it! "Tony" deserves a good home, with someone who enjoys a charismatic stallion with loads of personality. If his new owner has some mares for him to breed, all the better!
"Tony" is an excellent breeding stallion for any Lipizzan breeding program which aims to preserve the classical, baroque type Lipizzan. Approved for Breeding by Dr. Jaromir Oulehla, former Director of the Spanish Riding School. Many excellent offspring.
We have been breeding Lipizzans for 9 years, but we are now getting completely out of the Lipizzan Breeding business and liquidating our entire herd of broodmares and breeding stallions.
"Tony" has been an outstanding herd sire for us, and he still has a number of good breeding years left. He can be bred live cover and is trained to be collected on a phantom. He is very easy to handle and easy to collect on the phantom.
He is basically retired now from training and performance work, therefore we would like "Tony" to go to a breeding home, and price is very negotiable for the right home. Please contact us to discuss options. We are expecting a baby soon (a human one this time!!!) and we are very motivated to sell.
Tony is a baroque stallion of the traditional, classical type. He passes on his excellent character and temperament, as well as his correct classical type and excellent bone and substance. He has three excellent, powerful gaits and he consistently passes these on as well. He is an excellent choice for breeders wishing to add more bone and substance as well as preserve the baroque classical type in their program.
